Business Analysis
Challenge: Identify, document, and clearly communicate process, functional, and organizational needs; considering assumptions and constraints, while remaining solution agnostic.
Method: A major challenge in eliciting requirements is identifying need outside of the context of a predetermined solution. This involves listening carefully to stakeholders and asking questions that establish underlying goals and pain points. Stakeholders often come to the table with a solution already envisioned, and although this should be acknowledged, the value of the Analyst is to work towards a solution that meets the requirements, not develop requirements to meet a solution.
As a Certified Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP®), I am adept at the application of business analysis techniques and best practices including interviews, requirements workshops, document analysis, process modeling, root cause analysis, and development of user stories and use cases, to help your organization develop requirements that suit your needs. I can assist you in producing requirements in support of a short term project or work with you to document the requirements of an ongoing program, including current functions and future needs, that can serve as a resource for future project initiatives and project personnel.
Result: Your organization has a set of vetted and approved requirements, delivered in a format most useful to your project and organization; exhibiting all the characteristics of quality requirements; ready to be used as the roadmap to a successful and effective project solution.
